The present day mythical creature kill-a-thon known as Legendary is a little longer than a month away from being released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 (and later for PC). When the game is released on September 30, 2008, on consoles (November 4, 2008, for PC), players will enter the body of Charles Deckard, a thief who opens Pandora’s Box in New York City.
According to mythology, Pandora’s Box contained all that is evil in the modern world. In Legendary Deckard unleashes horrible mythical monstrosities that will be familiar to most. Naturally, its our job to kill them all. Some of the creatures in the game are Griffins, Minotaurs, Werewolves, Harpies, and the Kraken. Below is a video explaining a little more about Legendary.
Gamecock is offering a special bonus for those who choose to pre-order Legendary at participating retailers. All pre-orders will be accompanied by an official art book that features the animations of the characters and creatures in the game illustrated by Legendary’s art director Steve Firchow. Also packaged with the art book is a DVD that contains trailers and other videos that demonstrate a certain level of the game.
On the same day the game is released, a graphic novel based on Legendary will also be available. The novel spans almost 100 pages and is written by Mark Waid who also wrote the comic book mini series Kingdom Come for DC Comics. The Legendary graphic novel will provide even more insight into the story that is not conveyed in the game.
