In a match made in cross-media heaven, Nintendo’s dastardly second tier mascot, Wario, will be “invading” several Six Flags theme parks this September. In an effort to promote the upcoming Wario Land: Shake It! (out September 22, 2008 on the Wii), the chosen parks will be able to check out the game and win prizes.
In addition to this, a competition will be held at Six Flags St. Louis. and Six Flags Magic Mountain (near LA) to see who can complete a level from the game the fastest. The overall winner will get a trip to the Nintendo World store, and the best wagglers at every park will receive a “Bottomless Coin Sack” with a Wii, a copy of the game, a DS, and other fun stuff. Medical bills for your carpal tunnel syndrome not included.
Here’s the full list of participating parks and dates, via press release:
Six Flags Great Adventure (Jackson, N.J.) 9/27-28, 10/4-5, 10/11-12 Six Flags Magic Mountain (Valencia, Calif.) – 9/27-28, 10/4-5, 10/11-12 Six Flags Great America (Gurnee, Ill.) – 10/4-5, 10/11-12 Six Flags Over Texas (Arlington, Texas) – 9/27-28, 10/4-5, 10/11-12 Six Flags Over Georgia (Austell, Ga.) – 9/27-28, 10/4-5, 10/11-12 Six Flags Fiesta Texas (San Antonio, Texas) – 10/4-5, 10/11-12 Six Flags New England (Agawam, Mass.) – 9/27-28, 10/4-5, 10/11-12 Six Flags Discovery Kingdom (Vallejo, Calif.) – 9/27-28, 10/4-5, 10/11-12 Six Flags America (Bowie, Md.) – 10/4-5, 10/11-12 Six Flags St. Louis (Eureka, Mo.) – 9/27-28, 10/4-5, 10/11-12
So I wonder if getting all hyped up riding roller coasters enhances my ability to get shaking with a wii-mote. I think I need to test that theory.
