Majesco logoApparently, Majesco has kept an eye on the successful Mystery Case Files: Millionheir. I mean, there’s no other way you can explain the sudden announcement of Hot ‘n’ Cold for the Nintendo DS. Majesco has decided that it also wants to send players on scavenger hunts, and so it has developed a 3D hidden object game. Hot ‘n’ Cold is still in development, but should be available in the first few months of 2009.

In Hot ‘n’ Cold, you explore a town’s locations, trying to find people’s lost objects as a member of the Hot ‘n’ Cold Club. It sounds more like Elebits for the Wii than Mystery Case Files: Millionheir though, as you’ll be picking up and tossing objects to try and find what you’re looking for. There will supposedly be 50 indoor and outdoor areas to search through. Players will also be holding the DS like a book while they search.

Surprisingly rich multiplayer modes are also planned for Hot ‘n’ Cold. You can engage in Hide ‘n’ Sek, Find the Most and Race modes against other players, where you create a room with hidden objects and challenge friends to find everything. It sounds like the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection is going to be involved, as the press release states an online website will be created to share rooms.
