Fable 2

What a relief. Just when we thought Fable 2 fans were ready to take up arms in response to the announcement that the game would not be shipping with online cooperative play, Lionhead Studios goes and pulls a fast one on us. According to a post by Sam on the Fable 2 dev blog, the team has managed to include online co-op into Fable 2 and is now awaiting certification. Fable 2 will be released for Xbox 360 on October 21, 2008, in North America.

The online component is so enticing because your actions when visiting someones game can have an effect on their story. Money found while playing cooperatively can be split according to what the host player thinks is fair. Playing with a friend will almost guarantee you won’t be short changed for your efforts. Items can be given or traded among players with ease and leaving the game is just as easy as entering. Any experience you earn can also be taken back to the single player game. This makes the online experience a sort of extension to the overall story rather than a meaningless side task.
