Yep, it’s about that time of the year when Koei unleashes yet another iteration of its hack and slash series, Dynasty Warriors, upon us and this year we must have been extra good because we aren’t getting just one game, but two: Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce for the PlayStation Portable and Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 are both slated for a 2009 release.
Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce will add a multiplayer co-op mode to the action, so warriors won’t be as lonely on the field as they take out hundreds of cannon fodder soldiers, fortresses and beasts. Alongside DW: Strikeforce will be the return of the tactical/action series, Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires. While it’s not the first Empires game to be on a next-gen console, it will be the first Empires game that isn’t a port of the PS2 version.
Also announced at 2008 Tokyo Game Show is Koei’s departure from Chinese history, the upcoming Nintendo DS title, Monster Racers. This will also be getting a 2009 release window as well and is set to be a monster collecting game where players will race monsters instead of fighting them.
