James Grayson takes on a giant robot in Resistance: Retribution” width=”427″ height=”252″ />

There is no doubt that Resistance: Fall of Man has remained one of the Playstation 3′s stand-out titles. This popularity can be attributed to its large-scale environment and the ingenuity of the game’s developers at Insomniac Games. With Resistance‘s sequel due this holiday season (2008), and a side story for the PSP titled Resistance: Retribution expected later in the year, players will have ample opportunities to defeat the Chimera at their own game.

Players who choose to purchase both games will have the opportunity to “infect” their copies of Resistance: Retribution through the connection of their PSP systems to their Playstation 3 consoles.

Unlike most infections, which usually result in individuals becoming sick, this one will result in added gameplay features for both titles. James Grayson, Retribution’s protagonist, will become infected with the Chimera virus, thus allowing him to regenerate his health in the same manner as Nathan Hale. This will result in Retribution’s health packs being removed from the game. He will also be able to breathe underwater and have the opportunity to use the HE .44 Magnum from Resistance 2 as well.

This is an interesting feature, one that is likely to expand the game’s replay value while also making it more challenging. It certainly plays a role in making players that much more excited for both Resistance adventures when they are released. As for me, I will be sure to play this game on my new PSP when it becomes available – right after I conquer Nathan Hale’s second adventure, of course.

Read [<a
