SCEE reveals date for PS3 ver. 2.50, PSP ver. 5.0 firmware updates

According to a press release on ThreeSpeech, the UK PlayStation blog, the release date for the upcoming ver. 2.50 and ver. 5.0 firmwares for both Playstation 3 and Playstation Portable, respectively, will be October 15, 2008. You may also know this date as “tomorrow.”
This date is further backed up by the fact that the PlayStation Network was scheduled to be down today (October 14, 2008) from 2:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. for “essential maintenance.” For further proof, Joystiq has pointed out a post on SCEE’s official forum posted by a community team leader that also has the date listed as the release day.
