That was a short little scare there, eh? When Lionhead Studios announced that Fable 2 would not be seeing online co-op right out of the gate – a feature promised them would be in the package – people got a tad bit cranky.
Well, worry no more kids, Lionhead’s game development blog has announced that Xbox 360-exclusive Fable 2 will indeed see an online co-op patch available on day one and it won’t cost you a penny. If you’re in Europe, then day one is October 24, 2008, and here in North America it’s tomorrow, October 21, 2008.
Now friends can turn into not so friendly people as they beat your wife, kick your dog, and make you watch. Of course, we don’t condone this but when have you ever listened to us?
The lack of a online co-op has caused some reviewers to hold off on submitted their reviews until they have been able to play the complete product. This will surely speed things up a bit.
If it’s any consolation reviewers and public, Lionhead promises in their blog they haven’t gotten their retail copies yet, and they desperately want to play the game in their “own houses” and, oddly enough, in their “own pants.”
