Penny Arcade Adventures

The second installment in Hothead Games’ extravagantly named episodic Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness will be coming to the Xbox 360 via the Xbox Live Arcade and the PC via the Greenhouse digital distribution platform at PlayGreenhouse.com on October 29, 2008.

Episode Two will reunite players with Gabe and Tycho from the Penny Arcade comic strip as they explore virtual worlds, solve puzzles and level up. Players can either choose to import previously customized characters from Episode One into the game or create an all new character from scratch.

In addition to the all important Penny Arcade-esque humour and bizarre story twists, Episode Two will also boast extended difficulty settings to accommodate an even wider range of players than its predecessor, from the tamest “play it safe” player through to the most extreme masochist.

Canadian rock band The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets — best known for promoting H. P. Lovecraft’s works and appearing at the 2008 Penny Arcade Expo — will also be lending their musical talents to the game’s closing credits in the form of the song “Some Things Man Was Not Meant To Know.”

Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode Two will be priced at $14.95 (1200 Microsoft Points) when it launches on October 29, 2008. According to the press release, it is expected to provide somewhere between six and ten hours of game play.
