PopStar GuitarThe time is quickly approaching where we just won’t have anymore room to store instruments from all our past and future music based games. We started off with mid sized guitars before Rock Band, Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Revolution introduced drums that were unique to each game. XS Games was following suit with its game called PopStar Guitar for the Wii. Originally the game was supposed to ship with a guitar similar to its predecessors but retail giant Wal-Mart refused to put it on shelves.

MTV’s Multiplayer Blog spoke to a PR representative for PopStar Guitar after a demo was made to Wal-Mart executives. The executives saw the guitar and explained how they didn’t want to put yet another game with a guitar peripheral on Wal-Mart’s shelves. XS Games then decided to create a replacement guitar in the form of an attachment that connects to the Wii Remote.

PopStar Guitar will be released on November 4, 2008. It contains songs from Maroon 5, Rihanna and the Jonas Brothers across 25 venues.
