Burn Zombie Burn to set PS3s ablaze in 2009

You know, sometimes a game announcement can just make your day, even if you don’t own the system. Burn Zombie Burn is one of those games. You can’t hear the title Burn Zombie Burn and not smile, or feel warm and fuzzy inside. Doublesix and Pinnacle Software are working on this arcade-action style zombie destroying game for the PS3′s PlayStation Network, and will hopefully have it completed in the beginning of 2009.

The beauty of a game like Burn Zombie Burn is the title says it all. What do you do in it? You’ve got it – burn zombies. Well, you can also shoot or destroy zombies by other means, but somehow fire seems the most fun. You’re plopped in a B-movie area and have to beat the zombies to win. There will be three modes (freeplay, timed and defense), two multiplayer options (co-op and versus), different challenges in different levels, eight different kinds of zombies and many different ways to dispatch the undead.

It may be too early to tell whether or not Burn Zombie Burn would be a good game, but it definitely has a great name. That title is right up there with Snakes on a Plane. In fact, Burn Zombie Burn is also one of those titles which would make an amazing band name.
