Kotaku got in touch with Lionhead Community Manager, Sam Van Tilburgh, to see how things were coming along in regards to both a patch that is supposed to fix the “Abbot Glitch,” a few other bugs and those missing Limited Edition game codes.
The “Abbot glitch” is a bug in the game where if a player decides to walk away from the chatty man, the Abbot will lock up, not saying anything and therefore freezing the quest into place. Players will not be able to finish the quest or the game since the Abbot’s quest is part of the main storyline.
For those who have experienced the issue (myself included), here’s the good news:
We’re keeping a close eye on our forums, while a lot of the issues reported are not issues with the game necessarily, some of them are (like the two examples mentioned in my blog) however and so we’re looking at those, plus some (like the Abbot Quest) have been fixed already. The biggest issue is when people report a show stopping issue on our forums without enough information for us to reproduce it. Regarding the ETA for said patch, there is no news yet.
So, while the patch is ready and a “priority” for the company, there is no exact launch date for it. Yeah it sucks but, if you’re like me, you abandoned that character and started a new one but still have that frozen character in place awaiting the patch.
Now for the better news. Owners of the limited edition version of Fable 2 rejoice: Your missing LE codes will be arriving tomorrow (October 28, 2008). The codes missing from many limited edition sets were to unlock an exclusive Master Chief armor pack.

Yeah thanks a lot for the misinformation… What arrived wasn't codes it was another middle finger from microsoft… 10 business days and the codes will arrive after which I will be done with this game for sure thanks a lot fucking assholes
i got my limited edditon right as they stoped giving codes and my didnt have a code so i hope they send out more codes or make it to where you can buy them
