ZompocalypseToadTrip has released the first episode of the PC game Zompocalypse just in time for Halloween, 2008. To make things even better, the game is half off, only $9.99, in honor of the holiday. ToadTrip hasn’t announced when this Halloween discount will end and the game will return to $19.99, so it may be a good idea to pounce on it now.

I have to say, Zompocalypse is pretty fun. At least, the demo is. Its a standard, side-scrolling shooter (like Alien Hominid or Metal Slug), where you destroy zombies. There is also a co-op multiplayer mode, where two people can shoot down zombies and you can level up both your character and weapons. There’s even an online scoreboard and it supports use of the Xbox 360 controllers.

Currently, there’s only a PC version, but a Mac version is also in the works according to the press release. There’s also a free demo, so you can give it a try and see if its for you. It seems like a Zompocalypse demo would be a decent treat for your desktop or laptop – it was definitely worth the time on mine. Its a bit violent though, so it may be better for gamers ages 16 and up.
