So, this may be the least Halloween-y (Halloweenie?) bit of news you’ll get today, but who cares when they’re so damn cute. National Geographic Panda has just gone gold today, featuring all the Panda-related goodness Namco Bandai could cram into one package. The game will be released on November 11, 2008 for the DS, and it’s basically an animal simulator game in which players care for their furry friends – the catch is that this one is educational. That’s right, that prefix ain’t for nothing – this is a National Geographic product, and by god, you’re going to learn something if you get this game. Over the course of gameplay, over 20 National Geographic articles are unlocked.
And that’s not all – the game also comes packed with an hour long Secrets of the Wild Panda DVD:
“The special follows a team of scientists in Central China as they track and study a mother panda and her newborn cub. Rarely seen outside of captivity, this mother and cub give scientists a rare look into the lives of wild pandas.”
Can you handle all the panda goodness? I’d like to share a fun fact with you, if I may. I recently learned that panda poo has the scent and texture of crushed bamboo. Fascinating, isn’t it? In any event, if you or you’re young’n has a thing for these creatures, I’m sure you’ll get your money’s worth out of the game. Everyone else… well, since it’s Halloween, imagine zombie pandas or something.
