For those of you who want to trim their tree with game-themed ornaments, you do have a few more options than the usual Hallmark stuff. A couple companies make cutsie, less recognizable and usually more affordable (and copyright-free) gamer ornaments and, of course, there are always a few at the create-your-own product sites.

gamertell christmas ornament 2008 bronners gamerThe Bronners’ Video Gamer Glass Ornament is a traditional glass ball (to the right) with read and black ink. Not overly complex but it gets the message across from a distance. It is selling for $8.99. Here’s the description from the web site:

Take your Christmas shopping to the next level and surprise your video gamer with a gift that is sure to score extra points! Exclusively crafted for Bronner’s, this 3 in. ornament features several tongue-in-cheek phrases as well as the title Video Gamer printed in ravishing red along a smooth pearl surface.
Phrases include:

  • I’m taking it to the next level
  • Don’t worry… I have extra lives
  • My thumbs are in great shape
  • My goal… 100% completion
  • I wish life had cheat codes
  • Eat… Sleep… Play games… Repeat

I also found a few others available on several online stores (though I found one that offers them all) and likely available in all of this Christmas stores that pop up before the holidays.

There is a resin ornament of a gaming bear (see the image way above) that you can customize so it says something cool, dumb or funny on the screen. I sells for $10.95 to $12.99.

Finally there’s a pair of resin ornaments of a boy sitting with a game controller in his lap, looking pretty happy. Both are wearing a red-and-white polo shirt and a green baseball hat, with the only difference being the skin color. These can also be customized to slap a short name (or gamer tag) on the kid’s chest.

Here are a couple more noteworthy ornaments from Cafe Press and Zazzle (we’ll add more to the list as we find them):
