Company of HeroesTHQ has announced that another Company of Heroes expansion is on its way. Dubbed Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor, the product will be a standalone expansion developed by Relic Entertainment and will feature a slew of new content including three campaigns, multiplayer modes and a “direct-fire” feature.

Unfortunately, no other information was given on any of the modes or campaigns, not even a price. The release window is Spring 2009, however, so we should be hearing more on this soon. Though, as Joystiq points out, Amazon does mention the game’s release date as March 9, 2009, with a $30 price tag. But, again, none of this is concrete yet. Since Spring isn’t that far off, we should be hearing more soon.

In the meantime, I have a lot of catching up to do with the series. I hear that Opposing Fronts, the series’ first expansion, alone has enough content to keep fans held out for the few more months they have. And taking in the barrage of endorsements I hear on various gaming podcasts, now might be the right time to jump in. Regardless, at least there is some light to the earlier reports of THQ’s hard times.
