Kivis UnderworldSoldak Entertainment’s Kivi’s Underworld, a fantasy, hack-and-slash dungeon crawler for PCs and Macs has just been released on an unsuspecting world. Its a basic battler, where the lumen Kivi encounters dark elves while on a mining expedition, and now he and his friends have to save their friends and family from the dark elves.

The game looks really dark. Not content-wise (though that is a bit dark as well), but graphics wise. Most of the screenshots for Kivi’s Underworld have very few colors represented and set a definite atmosphere – but could also make it difficult for some player. I didn’t have any trouble though, when I sampled the demo, so its the sort of thing that may vary from person to person.

The full version of Kivi’s Underworld is $19.99, and the demos are, of course, free. You need Windows 98 or higher, OS X 10.3.9 (with OpenAL) or OS X 10.4 or higher to run the game. It may be wise to try the demo before purchasing though, since the demo is only 46.58mb for Windows and 48.87mb for Macs and lets you go through six of the adventures with six different character options.
