What was Sony doing will America was out voting? Pumping out a new firmware that’s what. That’s right, firmware 2.52 is out now but don’t get too excited, kids. The Playstation.Blog states that the firmware is only minor and only does two things:
The playback quality of some PS3 format software has been improved.
A text entry issue that occurs when using the on-screen keyboard, USB keyboard or Bluetooth keyboard with some PS3 format software has been addressed.
And here you were thinking there was some massive update that was going to turn your PS3 into that George Foreman grill you’ve been wanting. Sorry kids. The PlayStation Blog doesn’t say which PS3 games were affected, either, and I haven’t noticed any improvements in anything I’ve tried.
A couple of people on Joystiq seemed to notice the slowdown during text entry in LittleBigPlanet has been fixed. What about you guys? Notice anything in particular or is this business as usual?
