Kmart Black Friday 2008 adBlack Friday (aka the Friday after Thanksgiving) has almost become an unofficial holiday. People across the US scan the internet and newspapers for the best sale circulars, all to help plan out their holiday lists. With money tight this year, people will want to get as much information as quickly as possible so they can be sure they got the best prices.

The latest ad revelation concerns Kmart’s Thanksgiving 2008 sales, as multiple Black Friday websites are reporting discounted items and showing scans of the store’s circular. Their video game sales focus this year appears to be on Wii and PS2 games but there are a few other sales as well.

Black Friday Ads managed to procure and scan in the entire Kmart Thanksgiving ad circular, which you can view online or download to your computer for more leisurely perusal. Black Friday.info and TheBlackFriday.com also have information posted on all of the store’s sale items.

The sale items listed in the ad are as follows:

  • 2 packs of assorted Wii games will be $16.99
  • 3 packs of assorted PS2 games will be $9.99
  • Guitar Hero III for the PS2, Wii and Xbox 360 will be $54.99 (Note: The PS2 version currently on sale for $44.99 at Kmart as part of a pre-Black Friday sale.)
  • Ratchet & Clank PSP bundle will be $199.99
  • Wiis will be in stock for $249.99
  • Select Wii games will be $49.99 (Animal Crossing: City Folk, Mario Kart Wii, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Wii Music and Wii Play are pictured in the ad.)

Overall, this ad isn’t all that impressive. The games included in the 2-pack of Wii games and 3-pack of PS2 games are clearly shovelware titles. The Wii games aren’t even reduced, $49.99 is the normal price for each of those titles. Its disappointing – I was hoping to see some more spectacular sales.

(Editor’s Note: This story has been updated to reflect that it is the Thanksgiving ad portrayed.)

  1. This is the Thanksgiving Day ad-not the Black Friday ad for 2008. Hopefully, Black Friday ad will have better stuff!
