When Activision and Blizzard merged to become one big super company a few games got lost in the shuffle.

For a while the fate of Brütal Legend, Ghostbusters and 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand was up in the air. Since then we have learned that Brütal Legend is still in limbo but Atari will take Ghostbusters and THQ will publish Blood on the Sand. The developer for Blood on the Sand, Swordfish Studios, is said to be finished with the game, according to CVG, and is still on track for release despite the studio being sold.

The UK developer and provider of MMO technology Monumental Games bought Swordfish Studios along with the team who made Blood on the Sand. Swordfish Studios will be referred to as Monumental Manchester for as long as it stays acquired. The CEO of Monumental Games Rik Alexander thinks the ladies and gents formerly of Swordfish will be a valuable asset in positioning Monumental in a more prominent spot in the videogame industry.

We still don’t know a window for when 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand will be released. In fact, there isn’t too much we do know about the game in general other than Fiddy trying to get back a crystal skull that was stolen from him in the Middle East. As obscure at that sounds, a strange fascination still resides within the game.
