It’s almost officially time to stop drooling and start throwing down folks. Capcom and Microsoft are double teaming fighting game fans with tomorrow’s official launch of the New Xbox Experience (NXE) and the Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix “branded destination experience.” The “branded” experience will be a part of NXE update launching today (November 19, 2008). Players should be able to find it in the Live/Marketplace tab.
The “destination” will basically become a central hub for all things Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, including trailers, basic and premium themes, picture packs, etc. Interestingly, the premium themes will be featured in high definition, a hint of which is in the background of this post’s picture showing Ryu’s stage. Unfortunately, prices were not listed for any of the content but it looks like a new theme will be available tomorrow, November 19, 2008.
Christian Svensson, VP of Strategic Planning and Business Development, went on to glowingly endorse the decision to couple both Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and NXE in the following statement from the press release:
“With 1080p high-definition art and graphics, and the ultimate user feature set, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix is the perfect game to compliment the New Xbox Experience.”
Further in the press release was this nice photo (see the top of this post) of the new destination that just so happens to feature the game’s release date of November 26, 2008.
This seemed to be a strictly an Xbox 360 announcement as their were no details regarding the PlayStation version but we suspect details on that will not be far off.
