Circuit City’s Cyber Monday 2008 game deal – buy a game, get a gift card

Circuit City‘s Cyber Monday 2008 sale is somewhat lackluster. At least, when it comes to video games its fairly anticlimactic. If you purchase one of ten select DS, PS3, Wii or Xbox 360 games, you will receive a $10 Circuit City gift card. Of course, with Circuit City declaring bankruptcy and closing so many stores, this deal may not be the smartest one to bet on.

All of the games are quite popular ones. Nintendo games elligible for this deal are Animal Crossing: City Folk (Wii), Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS), Prince of Persia: The Fallen King (DS) and Wii Music (Wii). Call of Duty: World at War (PS3 or Xbox 360), Gears of War 2 (Xbox 360), Prince of Persia (PS3 or Xbox 360) and Resistance 2 (PS3) are also part of the deal. Oddly enough, many of the participating games are unavailable, as the Prince of Persia games are listed as pre-orders and the Prince of Persia: The Fallen King game is shown as coming soon, with no option to even place an order.

While a gift card may sound tempting, it may be a better idea to check another online retailer for a sale. After all, you’re paying full price for these games, and who knows if Circuit City will survive into 2009.
