IGG GodsWar onlineThe people at IGG must be pretty proud right about now – the Alpha test of GodsWar Online has just begun. You’re probably thinking, big deal, these companies release free-to-play MMORPGs all the time. Well, GodsWar Online is special – its the first game developed and published by IGG. IGG decided to use anime-style graphics and Grecian myths and gods to help create an entirely new MMO, where players can visit ancient Greece and take part in battles and quests fit for legendary heroes.

Its easy to get involved in the Alpha test of GodsWar Online that started November 28, 2008. You create an IGG account, download the client, and then request an Alpha key to activate your GodsWar Online account. Once you get your key, you enter it here, and then are free to start playing. If you also help contribute to the Alpha test’s success, by pointing out bugs and offering suggestions to improve the game, becoming a PK king and just spending time playing the game and building up your character. If you do, you could have an NPC named after you, or have your name appear on an in-game monument.

Like almost all free-to-play MMORPGs, if you have a Mac you probably should go elsewhere. GodsWar Online is only for PCs with Windows XP or better and DirectX 9.0c or better. Luckily, its a reasonably small download – only around 137mb. So you won’t have to wait too long before you’re exploring in this Greek mythology inspired world.
