Chances are, if you’re reading this site, you saw The Dark Knight – and that you liked it. If so, you’ll be pleased to know that the film will be returning to theaters – and IMAX – on January 23, 2008. The moody, beautifully crafted film is a serious contender for Oscar recognition – one of the first “superhero” flicks in recent memory (or ever, really) to have a chance at being so honored.

Of course, the Oscar buzz has been flitting around ever since the film came out in July – with Christopher Nolan’s expert direction and the late Heath Ledger’s phenomenal performance as the Joker.

The flick was the highest-grossing movie of the year – and the second highest grossing film of all time (at least domestically). iTunes has sold a glut of pre-orders (in fact, the most ever), according to MTV, and the Knight-mania isn’t even close to being over. Be sure to check out Gamertell’s upcoming review of the Blu-ray and our review of the film.
