World War II: Road to VictoryMatrix Games and IQ Software’s World War II: Road to Victory has another update incoming. If you’ve been keeping up with the game patches, then you’ll know its time for 1.30. That’s pretty quick, considering the last patch (1.210) arrived November 13, 2008, and the patch before that (1.201) was released way back on August 21, 2008.

The actual changes and improvements added to World War II: Road to Victory by the 1.30 patch are a bit vague. Supposedly it improves computer controlled opponent’s AI and makes the game more realistic, but the site and press release don’t say how the NPC intelligence improves or what makes the game seem more real. More definite changes are some altered interface art and a fresh “1944 Operation Overlord” scenario to play.

The update is available to download from the Matrix Games site. If you haven’t updated your game with 1.201 or 1.210 patches, you may want to back up your game saves before you download and patch your copy of World War 2: Road to Victory. Patch 1.201 makes the previous game saves useless.

In case ths is the first time you’ve heard of it, World War II: Road to Victory is a historical strategy game where you play as one of the Axis or Allied nations and play through WWII. You can battle your enemies, or try to reason with them using diplomacy. It’s only for PCs with Windows XP or better, and costs $39.99 for a digital copy and $49.99 for a physical copy.
