Choosing which platform to purchase Fallout 3 for can be determined by a number of factors including whether or not you want to earn achievements, get some extra downloadable content and or avoid game glitches. The PS3 version unfortunately failed all three of these criteria when it was released in October 2008.
While PS3 owners may never see episodic content for Fallout 3, people in Europe now have access to a patch that brings Trophy support and squashes many of the annoying bugs that plagued the experience from day one.
There are a total of 51 Trophies to obtain including the coveted Platinum Trophy that’s unlocked after getting the other 50.
The patch also stops the game from freezing whenever someone from your Friends list signs on or off or sends you a message. Until now the only solution was turning off notifications which sort of defeats the whole purpose of connecting to PSN in the first place.
The patch has not gone live in North America yet, but it should go up very soon.
