The Consumer Electronics Show is the place to go to witness all your high tech fantasies come true but there’s also some games to check out, too.
As we wait for the show to kick off January 8, 2009, reports are steadily coming in about what we can expect to see. One game that will be at CES is Hasbro Family Game Night. It was originally released in November 2008 for the PS2 and Wii but EA has decided to make the game available digitally on Xbox Live Arcade in the Spring of 2009.
Hasbro Family Game Night will contain versions of popular household games including Yahtzee, Connect Four, Battleship and others. The game can be played traditionally or through a Party mode that contains mini-games that relate to each title. One feature of the game that’s pretty neat is the ability to earn trophies and furniture to decorate your own personal gaming space.
Microsoft is really hammering away at the casual gaming market with the Arcade bundles and Avatars. It’s apparently working like a charm according to the sales figures. All it needs to do now is implement the Avatars into Hasbro Family Game Night and watch the dough roll in.
