Nostale Global
Even if you thought there were already enough cutesy, free-to-play, massive multiplayer online RPGs in the world, you’re wrong. In fact, we’re probably only scratching the surface. Case in point is Nostale Global, which has just launched in North America, thanks to Uforia.

It almost feels like Nostale: Global could be close to a single player MMO. After all, you can catch and recruit monsters to help you fight, as well as NPCs who can aid you. The ultimate goal of the game also feels more like a standard action or RPG game as well – you’re traveling through 70 East Mile levels to try and reach Dark Horn and defeat him. Of course, there are MMO stables included in, like player versus player battles and the ability to create an individual space where you can socialize with friends.

I know Trickster Online is more established and totally different than Nostale: Global, but I can’t help being reminded of the older MMO when I look at the newer one. I think its the character art, and the way in which you traverse through the virtual world. I mean, its obviously completely different, in terms of classes, extra features and objectives, but Nostale: Global still makes me feel nostalgic for an old favorite.

  1. assuming that there will be an in-game item mall for character customization, etc. any word on what makes Nostale stand out from the others? In other words, what's their market play?

  2. I haven't actually played Nostale: Global – I couldn't get it to work with my laptop.

It seems like its something of a cross between MapleStory and perhaps Trickster (or even zOMG!). 2D somewhat sidescrolling action-rpg where you try to beat up everything that isn't you and your allies.

There's also a card aspect, where you use cards to change your class and specialist class, but it was difficult to discern from the official materials offered by Uforia if the changes to your character were permanent or temporary.
