Ultimate Edition of Red Alert 3 to be a PS3 exclusive

It was a pretty big bummer for PS3 owners when they learned Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 would not be released at the same time as the PC and Xbox 360 versions of the game.

Electronic Arts must have known it would have to make up for the delay, offering a serious apology with Red Alert 3: Ultimate Edition exclusively for the PS3. This version is a lot more than a mere port as it includes features that are not found in either the Xbox 360 or PC editions.

The Ultimate Edition features a soundtrack, bloopers and outtakes, strategy videos and new battleground maps to fight on. A new featurette called “Girls of RA3″ offers an inside look at the women characters that helped bring life into the game. This video is also presented in full 1080p HD quality.

Perhaps the most important feature is the improved CommandStick 2.0 for the PS3. The CommandStick is tailor made for the PS3 controller and promises ease of use for players of all skill levels.

Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 for PS3 should be available March 2009.
