Rock Band 2 WiiHang out an “Open” sign. Or, at the very least, take the time to pop Rock Band 2 into your Wii today. Rock Band‘s Music Store for the Nintendo console is now open (finally), and it has 50 tracks ready to be downloaded and played in Rock Band 2. The best part is, some of those tracks are free. Almost half in fact – 20 of them can be immediately downloaded and played in the game without getting out your credit or Wii Points card.

The other 30 songs all cost 200 Wii Points/$2 each, and should look familiar – they already appeared as downloadable content (dlc) for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. If you decide to get all 30, be ready to pay 6,000/$60. New songs are going to be added every week, and eventually all 500 songs already available are available to Wii owners. Also, the new Rock Band 2 dlc is going to start being released as well starting in February 2009.

And don’t worry about the tracks taking up valuable space inside the system’s build in hard drive. You can save the tracks to an SD card, and the game will read them off that card. So there’s no need hesitate when buying because you’re afraid you don’t have the room.
