Puffins: Island Adventure is a life sim with various mini-games. Players create a puffin avatar, are added to a puffin flock and must then strive to succeed and survive. You have to bond with friends and family, play mini-games to learn skills, build up your reputation and unlock extra levels, educational material and a puffin burrow of your very own. There are also two different multiplayer modes, a four player local multiplayer, which will likely involve the mini-games, and a two player multiplayer mode that uses the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
Another big selling point for Puffins: Island Adventure is Alan Doyle. The Canadian composer is going to be behind the music for the game, and unique instruments like the tin whistle and bodhran will be intrical parts of the musical pieces providing the ambiance for the game.
Honestly, I’d rather see about 10 games like Puffins: Island Adventure than one new Petz title. Somehow, it seems like Puffins: Island Adventure not only will be a higher quality title, with more care put in and creative elements, it also seems more unique. I’d play it.
