PowerbikeIt’s a good day for Majesco – two press releases in one day. The first dealt with an adorable, leisurely DS game where you live a puffin’s life. Now, we get more information on the adrenaline packed Powerbike, a DS motorcycle racting game. The DS is going to get a lot of love from Majesco this spring.

As you can probably guess, Powerbike‘s primary focus is on racing. You can customize your bike with money you win from races, or take part in a stunt mode, as well. There are eight courses offered in the game, with three different ways to play them. The stunt mode sounds most appealing to me, since you have to perform leaps and all sorts of tricks. Who am I kidding, I’m just excited about how cool the wipeouts could look if you fail.

Of course, a racing game has to have multiplayer. So there are multiplayer races in Powerbike. Unfortunately, it looks like they’re only local races, as the press release makes specific mention of local multiplayer. It’s a shame – Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection support would have been a great bonus.

If Powerbike is even half as good as Excitebike, the only motorcycle game I have ever loved, then I’m in. I’m serious – there’s a gaping hole in my DS game collection, and a decent motorcycle game could fill it. It’s a shame that there isn’t any mention of a custom track creation mode, because if there was, I think I’d have to go place a preorder.
