You know how we in the gaming media are always talking about how the Xbox 360 is having major, major problems in Japan? We’re not kidding.
Having examined numbers from Japanese game magazine Famitsu, Kotaku reports that only a single 360 game cracked the Top 100 sales list in Japan.
And, no, it wasn’t any of the console’s big Western hits like Gears of War 2 or Fable 2.
Nope, the role-playing game Tales of Vesperia was the only 360 game to crack the list. It came at no. 82, not exactly setting the list on fire.
The Nintendo DS placed the most games on the list with a whopping 47 games. Man, portables are big in Japan.
The Wii placed 15 games on the list, pushing Nintendo ever closer to a worldwide win in the console war. Of course, it is always interesting to see how different cultures have different forms of entertainment.
Microsoft has been fighting this battle since the Xbox 360′s launch and as these numbers indicate, still losing very dramatically.
