Hey – do you like free stuff? Did you – or are you currently – into the excellent indie gem known as World Of Goo? If you said “hell yes!” to either or both of these questions, then click on over to this link and download the World of Goo soundtrack. The music is awesome, especially considering the achievement of the project – as a wildly popular and successful game made by two people.
Kyle (the composer, and one of the aforementioned two guys) even has a cool little blurb for each of the 27 tracks. Want to know a little more about track 18: “My Virtual World of Goo Corporation”? Sure you do. It was “originally written for a friend’s NES game Dikki Painguin.” Cool stuff, people.
As for the music itself, GameLife writer Nate Ralph weighs in with
“The soundtrack is 49 minutes long, and consists of a rather awesome blend of digitally synthesized instruments. It’s also free, which should be enough to convince devotees to give it a download. If you haven’t actually played the game yet, it’s easily well worth $20, and available on the PC, Mac, and Wii.”
Even if you haven’t played it, it’s good stuff, and free is free. But you should play it. That is all.
