By now, it is pretty obvious the effect that Barack Obama’s inaugural festivities have had on the American public. Once it became official that he would become president, millions of individuals the world over have either attended his inauguration in person or witnessed it via television or the Internet.
Having attended the proceedings, I can say with confidence that it was worth every minute.
Those who choose to consume media via their Xbox 360s were also included in the inaugural proceedings, as Gamepolitics reports that Obama’s inauguration speech was featured on Xbox Live, along with the Movie and TV sections of live adopting a political-based theme.
Considering the historic nature of Obama’s inaugural events, it makes perfect sense to spread his influence to the gaming world. In fact, it is almost fitting, considering how he successfully advertised his message through video games on various occasions.
Interestingly, it was also shown that Obama was the preferred choice over John McCain when both were waging their campaigns for the presidency, at least according to XBL players. Perhaps those players knew something at the time that everyone else did not…
Now that Obama is our 44th president, it remains to be seen just what he will do to combat the issues that are facing our planet. One would hope that he will take a stronger stance against politicians who choose to waste their efforts fighting the gaming industry. Indications show that he might, especially considering the gift that he gave his daughters during the holiday season.
