Noby Noby Boy isn’t a mystery anymore, and now that all the information on the PS3 downloadable game is revealed, it’s looking pretty darn cool. I know I’m wishing it weren’t a PS3 exclusive. The one constant we’ve all known is that Keita Takahashi, who we already love for making Katamari Damacy, was behind Noby Noby Boy. Now, we know that the goal in the game is to help BOY eat things, grow and stretch throughout the environment.
What you do is move BOY using the left analog stick to control his front end and the right to control his back end. This way you can help him move around the area and find things/people to eat. If you decide he’s eaten something he shouldn’t, you simply make him spit it back up. If you think you’ve just played a particularly interesting level, you can record it and send it to YouTube.
The really innovative part of Noby Noby Boy involves GIRL. GIRL is a creature like BOY, except she’s starting on Earth and stretching throughout outer space. Based on how all the Noby Noby Boy players stretch BOY in their games, GIRL will stretch farther and farther – so really she’s a shared character. Extra stages for all players are unlocked when GIRL reaches new places in space.
If it sounds interesting to you, and you’re lucky enough to have a PS3 so you can play it, then be ready to pick it up February 19, 2009. It’s only going to cost $4.99, so it’s a definite bargain. Besides, it looks memorable.
