On January 24, 2009, WhatIfGaming reported that Lionhead Studios informed the site that, even though a PC port of Fable 2 isn’t officially confirmed by Microsoft, the success of the game makes a PC version of Fable 2 imminent.
Unfortunately, a member from the Lionhead dev team denied this claim in the community forum on January 26, 2009, indicating that Lionhead is not working on a PC port of Fable 2. If that changes, Lionhead will inform the public on its website.
For now we’ll just have to make due with our Xbox 360 copies of Fable 2.
Lionhead released the Knothole Island add-on not too long ago to keep the adventure going for us. Time will tell what other content Lionhead has in store for us. Until further notice, don’t hold your breath.

Right. They're missing a huge market here.
I play Fable TLC on pc, and would rather play it on a pc. Easier access to everything you need as far as weapons, etc. Why NOT make a pc version? I would buy it in a heartbeat! As I am sure a million other people would as well! HELLO?!
I for one welcomes the PC port. Although the chances of seeing one is slim unless Fable 2 sells well on the 360. Fable TLC was released fairly late compared to it's Xbox counterpart so I would expect Fable 2 to be the same (hopefully with some extra contents like Fable 1).
Hopefully with the imminent Windows 7 release Microsoft might contact some game producers like Lionhead to start releasing Vista/Windows 7 exclusive games to promote sales on their operating systems. Hopefully Fable 2 would be one of them.
Its going to be on ps3 faster then on PC
i really think this is a very bad marketing process, pc could be better sales then xbox given the chance. we as pc gamers deserve to enjoy good games too
just my 2 cents
I'd buy it too. I don't own an xbox 360, and I don't see the point in buying one since almost all games have pc ports anyway, and the ones I've seen that don't, don't really interest me anyway, save this one. Maybe I'm a pc gaming hitler, but I can't stand to use an inaccurate joystick, and the xbox controller is just strange to hold for me.
It's really too bad, I'd love to play this game because it looks great, but there's not a chance in hell of me forking out over $200 to buy a 360 so I can play this one game. =-/
As far as I am concerned, Lionhead can burn in Hades for all eternity for how they have shrugged their loyal PC consumers off. I was one of their biggest fans and supporters, now I feel only malice for them. I have an Xbox 360 and I refuse to buy Fable II or III for it. I have bought Xbox 360 copies of my favorite PC games for it, but I won't be buying any Lionhead product ever again. They have stabbed the PC crowd in the back, after we were the ones who placed them on the effing map. They will never again make a penny off of me.
I agree they did screw up big. The game would have done better if it was released for the PC to. Plus it's not worth it to buy the 360 just for 1 game. That and i think alot of game developers are doubting the PC market only cause they fear piracy.
That is a horrible thing to think that pc developers would rather spurn the PC industry because of piracy concerns. What about all the pirated games on consoles. Modchips for your consoles and pirated games. Its everywhere, it just sounds like an excuse from a lazy company… consoles didn't kill the computer the developers did.
The only console i own now is the nintendo wii. It is not hacked and I got it for my son. I will never buy and xbox 360 or ps3 or anything after those. Consoles just keep getting outdated so its a waste of money to buy one every 2 years or so. Just build an awesome pc and support the developers who still make pc games like ROCKSTAR!!!! Just cause 2 has been purchased and i will continue to support rockstar even tho they port their games late to pc… my 2 cents
The only thing lionhead do here is to kill themselves.. Not all people have xbox360, but im certain all people have pc in their homes. if piracy they fear, it happens everywhere. its hard to believe why fable 2 hasn't been release to pc, im so frustrated.
This is a load of bs, the pc version of fable tlc actualy had better sales then the xbox counterpart AND its rumored that fable 3 will be out on pc so why the hell not port II to the pc? Personaly I stopped buying consoles at the ps2 because of how damn expensive they were, not to mention I can get almost any of the console games on my computer anyways.
im not paying over £100 on a xbox 360 just to play fable 2
Personally I think Fable2 is to Fable3 what Vista is to Windows7 or what Win2000 was to WinXP;
an Experimental release, the sort of thing Micro$oft does to probe the market with an "innovative" yet half-baked Idea or Concept; Then, after gathering all the data from their loyal guinea-pigs *ahem* …I mean Costumers, they release a new and Improved version with better Graphics and more useless gimmicks.
In my opinion, such a practice, although barely tolerable in the Software industry, is inexcusable and down-right Evil coming from a Game-developer …albeit one who's sole nourishment is the spunk it milks out of Micro$oft flaccid cock >:P
What's sad about this practice is that Games unlike Software, don't have Users. Games have Fans, people that play and enjoy them to various degrees. And it's those people that Lionhead ripped-off by denying them access to the Fable universe. Releasing Fable3 for PC whilst keeping Fable2 an Xbox exclusive seems to me like nothing else than a Unscrupulous Marketing-Strategy from an already controversial company.
So until Lionhead stops being Micro$oft's personal Bitch, I doubt we will ever see a PC-version of Fable2
Well in regards to ◦Neferius … using the analogy of 2000 to xp was a bad idea.
2000 was a far better/stable operating system compared to XP (in the beginning).
Yes XP eventually became the best, but it took more time than Vista to 7.
Anway I enjoyed the Fable TLC. I once owned a nintendo and for a short while the wii.
I always end up going back to pc. PC games are more graphic and run better than their console counterparts. (with few exceptions). (also granted I always run top of the line pc).
I wish fable 2 was on the pc, if so i would purchase it.
However, I would never consider buying an xbox just to play it. What i find quite terrible is that xbox and windows (pc) programs can be programmed in the same programming suite. (Went to school for programming). The only reason I can think of, not to do both, is if they were given "benefits". Microsoft would make money if people buy the xbox…… as for the pc, most already run windows… They might need to purchase a better video card, but MS will not make money doing so
Just a hint did you know that you can transfer games on consoles to pc but you need to buy the game on the platform, also you need to download a emulator for it to work also the emulator must be an xbox emulator it may take some trial and error
