Virtua Tennis 2009 matches begin in May

Ah spring, the time when we all get ready to once again play outside in the nice weather. Unless, of course, we spent the entire winter snacking – then we might not be immediately ready to spring back into sports and outdoor activities. Don’t worry though, Sega will have PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 owners covered this year with the May 2009 release of Virtua Tennis 2009.

So Virtua Tennis 2009 is going to be a lot like the previous Virtua Tennis games. That is, you’ll be playing tennis against famous athletes. Of course, new players, events and extras will be added for the latest incarnation of the game. For example, Andy Murray and Ana Ivanovic are both going to be added as characters. Also, the Davis Cup license will be added into game. You’ll also have to spend more time practicing, as players’ characters can now stumble, and basic moves have been improved.

Virtua Tennis 2009‘s World Tour Mode is also going to have quite a few new updates. Original player characters now are more customizable, with 800 different items to use when creating a character. There will also be online play and ranking in World Tour.
