Fallout 3 Operation: Anchorage

If you’re loving Fallout 3‘s PC and Xbox 360 downloadable content (DLC) Operation: Anchorage, prepare to love it for a little longer. Operation: Anchorage came out back on January 27, 2009 for 800 Microsoft Points/$10, and the next two DLC packs, The Pitt and Broken Steel, were supposed to come out in February and March.

However, an unexpected delay has pushed the release dates for both of those add-on expansions back. The Pitt, which takes part in former Pittsburgh, offers a new area, map and quest. In this expansion, players will be given the opportunity to explore a raider town. It will be released in March, 2009, as opposed to the original plan of February, 2009. Like Operation: Anchorage, it will cost 800 MP.

The third, and perhaps most eagerly anticipated DLC add-on is Broken Steel, and that will be out in April, 2009 instead of March, 2009. Like the other expansions, it’ll cost 800 MP. Broken Steel features a new scenario that takes place after the game ends, where players can join the Brotherhood of Steel to evict the Enclave from the Capital Wasteland. This expansion also alters the Fallout 3 level cap, so players can have level 30 characters.

I suppose it’s possible to put a positive spin on these delays. This way, you’ll be able to enjoy the game for a longer period of time. Plus, you get something to look forward to. After all, once Broken Steel comes out, it’ll give players even more motivation to play.
