Braid

According to Joystiq, Stardock (publishers of Sins of a Solar Empire) has announced that a PC version of last summer’s breakout Xbox Live Arcade puzzle game, Braid, is set to be released via digital distribution over Stardock’s Impulse service on March 31, 2009, for $14.95.

Last year, the $15 price sent waves of anger throughout the XBLA community which considered the price to be far too high for the platformer. Both on his blog and in interviews, developer Jonathan Blow defended the seemingly high price stating more or less that he wanted to at least break even on the game. Blow has made it no secret that the game required a lot of time and money to make it exactly how he envisioned it and most people who actually played through it agreed that the game was well worth the “high cost.”

Originally, the announcement of the PC port price was to be set at $20. However, after a little bit of rumbling throughout the internet, Jonathan Blow announced via his blog that the game will in fact have a $15 price point citing that the XBLA version of the game was “nicely profitable” at its price.

I guess a little internet complaining can go a long way, huh?
