An update to The Scout class was released on February 25, 2009, which brings new maps, weapons and achievements to Team Fortress 2.
To commemorate this joyous occasion, Valve is selling Team Fortress 2 on Steam for $9.99 for an extremely limited time, and by that I mean until Friday (February 27, 2009).
The usual asking price is $20, which is a bargain in its own right, but now Valve is giving us little excuse to not purchase the game. This deal on Team Fortress 2 follows the trend of great deals on Steam which included Left 4 Dead at half price and 80% off a collection of indie titles in previous weeks.
Every class update in Team Fortress 2 is free. So far tweaks to The Medic, Pyro, Scout and The Heavy have been released. The head of Valve Gabe Newell acknowledged sales of Team Fortress 2 go up 100% whenever a new update is released. Theoretically combining a free update with a price cut will make those sales rise even more.
