Okay, that should do it. During my nightly rounds on the App Store, I noticed something in the blur of my scrolling. Mega Man II. The blue bomber on the iPhone? I don’t know why I’m this surprised to see that Capcom, kings of rehashing their franchises, yet again find another way to sell us Mega Man II (which is arguably the best Mega Man game). But the iPhone? Seriously?
From the looks of it, you control the game via a virtual joystick and two virtual buttons. In fact, it’s basically a virtual arcade cabinet that just so happens to house Mega Man II. I know I shouldn’t knock it until I try it, but Mega Man games and joysticks are not a combination that mix well in my mind.
Still, I guess its something to know that Capcom is committed to the iPhone platform to some degree, other than mobile versions of game shows. Either that, or this is Capcom’s way of mocking the idea of the iPhone as a gaming platform.
Anyway, if you want to check it out the horr… I mean the “port” you can download it over at the App Store for $4.99.
