Dream Cheeky’s Star Trek-themed USB gadgets

Dream Cheeky, makers of wacky and cool USB-based gadgets, just sent an updated tip about four of the company’s upcoming Star Trek-themed USB (and one Bluetooth) devices.

There’s a pair of Communicators, an Enterprise-shaped web cam – ideal to use to communicate with your distant gamer friends – and even a Trek-ish photo keychain. The email also indicates that at least two of the devices work with Skype and two work with Mac as well as Windows.

Here are the items followed by big ol’ photos:

• Star Trek USB Communicator – Shaped like the original series communicator, supports VOIP and Skype, has sound effects. Works with Mac and Windows. Built-in microphone, volume controls.
• Star Trek USB LCD Photo Frame – Shaped like the Starfleet logo or chest communicator, 1.5 LCD screen with calendar and clock. 8MB Flash memory, built-in rechargeable battery. Works with Windows.
• Star Trek Bluetooth Communicator – Shaped like the old communicator, Bluetooth 2.0 for phone calls with clip. USB charging, volume control, call waiting, call rejecting.
• Star Trek USB Web Cam – Classic Enterprise ship design, works with Skype. LED light, 4 ft. cable, works with Windows and Mac.

Prices and release date were not indicated (but we’ll post ‘em when we get ‘em). The company already offer a USB internet phone ($45) that looks like ye olde original series Star Trek communicator.

You can also hide this on your desk between your collection of Burger King Star Trek movie toys and no one would be the wiser. Well, except maybe that other Trekker in your office.
