The wait’s over and the surprise has been revealed. Atlus has been covertly working on the localization of Shiren the Wanderer and 101-in-1 Party Megamix for the Wii. The 101-in-1 news isn’t as surprising, since Atlus released the DS game 101-in-1 Explosive Megamix. Shiren the Wanderer is, since Sega handled the US release of Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer for the DS.
101-in-1 Party Megamix is, as you guessed, a mini-game collection. There are 101 games available, almost all with four player multiplayer. It’s also going to be a $19.99 budget release, just like 101-in-1 Explosive Megamix. It’ll be out October 27, 2009.
Shiren the Wanderer is a roguelike RPG for the Wii starring Shiren. The name is desceptive, as it is actually the third game in the Shiren series. Like all of the other games, it is developed by Chunsoft, was originally published in Japan by Sega and features the warrior Shiren as he travels around the world defeating monsters and helping the innocent. It’ll be released in Spring, 2010.
This was a fantastic surprise from Atlus. While 101-in-1 Party Megamix was probably expected, I’m sure nobody would think it’d arrive so soon. As for Shiren the Wanderer, that announcement came out of nowhere. Wow!
