Metroid Other MNintendo truly saved the best, and most unexpected surprise, for last. During the company’s keynote conference at E3 2009, speakers repeatedly mentioned surprises. At the end, Nintendo’s more mature, adult games were showcased. Imagine the surprise of everyone watching when it was revealed that Nintendo is currently working on a harder, more mature game with another developer.

That other developer is Team Ninja, and that game is Metroid: Other M. Videos of the trailer, which show Samus on Earth and space, battling all sorts of alien encounters and then encountering a woman who looks suspiciously like herself, are already appearing on the internet. Let’s take a peek at one of the copies of the trailer that’s appeared on YouTube:

Normally, I’m not a Metroid fan. However, this trailer is a thing of beauty. There’s action, there’s adventure. There’s beat’em up and shooting action. It truly looks like an amazing game, and it’s a shame we’ll all have to wait until 2010 to play it. Of course, it will be a Wii exclusive game.
