Final Fantasy VIIThat’s right kids, your long awaited dreams have come true as Jack Trenton himself, announced during Sony‘s E3 keynote, that the fan-favorite RPG will be available today (June 2, 2009) on the PlayStation store. The title will be just one of a promised 50 that will be coming soon. At the time of writing, the game wasn’t available yet but we will update you with details once available.

Final Fantasy VII has long been heralded as the franchise’s best title (its up for debate at least) and since its debut in 1997, has sparked two spinoffs and a movie.

Finding the game has always been easy but justifying the price of it hasn’t. eBay sellers and collectors often sell the game for around $80 or more if it’s still in the shrink wrap. Now however, those prices will probably be dropping since I’m venturing a guess that Sony will put it up for $15, roughly the same as the Japanese price.

Let’s not forget the added bonus of being able to put it on your PSP and carry it with you.

Update: Looks like Final Fantasy VII is now live and available on the cheap – it’s $9.99!
