Glory of HeraclesPAON’s DS RPG Glory of Heracles, which was released in Japan last year as Heracles no Eikou: Tamashi no Shoumei is getting a domestic release. Nintendo announced at E3 2009 that it is going to be taking a chance on the game set in the time of the Grecian gods. This is bigger news than most people realize, it marks the first time that an entry in the Hercules no Eikou series of games, which have also appeared in Japan on the NES, SNES and Game Boy, will be released outside of Japan. However, we have to wait until 2010.

Glory of Heracles begins with Heracles washing up on a beach with amnesia. He doesn’t remember any of his past or his goals. The only thing to do is journey around Greece and try to find out who he is. He won’t be alone though, other immortals will join him on his quest, as he finds his way towards Mount Olympus.

Some of the Glory of Heracles highlights include forgeable weapons, animated cutscenes and the ability to use face buttons or the touch screen to control the game. There’s also the standard ally recruiting, tons of enemies to fight and special abilities that are commonplace in all RPGs.

I’m wonder if Nintendo spotted a story I did back on Nintendo’s DS games that haven’t been released in North America. Fossil Fighters (Bokura wa Kaseki Holder), Glory of Heracles and Style Savvy (Wagamama Fashion: Girl’s Mode) were all on it. If any Nintendo reps are reading, hello and A.S.H. or Soma Bringer next please!

Ha ha, I wondered that too. I was looking at all of those announcements and going, "Isn't that like half the list that Jenni blogged about a month or two ago?" :-P
