During Microsoft’s E3 2009 press conference, Hideo Kojima walked on stage to introduce a chapter in the Metal Gear Solid series. This new game called Metal Gear Solid: Rising will star Raiden as the protagonist and apparently won’t have anything to do with Solid Snake.
Today (June 3, 2009), however, Hideo Kojima returned to the stage during Konami’s press conference to announce Metal Gear Solid: Rising would not be exclusive to the Xbox 360. It will instead be launching simultaneously on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
This has been the third Metal Gear related announcement of E3 behind Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for PSP and Metal Gear Arcade.
As of now, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker has a 2010 release window while release dates for the other two games have yet to be announced.
