McFarlane Toys recently announced the second wave of Halo Odd Pod figures, its 2009 San Diego Comic-Con figure and a small slew of other Halo-themed figures and figure-related products.
The Odd Pod figures are hand-painted, stand 4 inc. tall and are individually boxed. Each has curled hands and comes with an accessory they can hold. The figures in this set include:
The Rookie with pistol
Arbiter with energy sword
Spartan CQB (red) with Spartan laser
Spartan Hayabusa (blue) with dual guns
According to the site, series 2 figures will be released October 2009. Each figure sells for $9.99 or $10.99, depending on the outlet.
The company’s 2009 San Diego Comic-Con-exclusive item will be a 6 in. Toys “R” Us Grifball Spartan in a clamshell package. According to the company’s site, the figure will be avaialble for a limited time through three outlets. Here’s the figure’s description:
This Spartan features the highly coveted Recon armor, plus a Bomb, Gravity Hammer and Sword Hilt. The McFarlane Toys Grifball Spartan marks the first time an action figure has been created based on the Grifball game. The Grifball Spartan is limited to 6,000 pieces and will sell for $15. This exclusive will be available at Comic-Con, July 23-27 [2009] at the San Diego Convention Center at the Toys “R” Us booth, in limited quantity at the Toys “R” Us Times Square store and through ToysRUs.com.
McFarlane is also releasing Halo Series 5 (2009 Wave 2) Equipment Edition figures. These painted action figures stand 6 in. tall and will be packaged in a blister card. Some of the figures include special equipment. The Master Chief, for example, is a clear figure that comes with dual SMGs and a gravity lift. These will be released July 15, 2009, and retail for $12.99 each. Figures include:
