Marvel Comics “True Believers” will find a lot of info about upcoming Marvel games at San Diego Comic Con (July 23-26 2009). At 10 a.m.. July 25, 2009, at you can head to Room 6BCF to hear more about the Marvel Super Hero Squad. They’re getting a huge push from Marvel with a Cartoon Network show and a video game being handled by THQ.
The Super Hero Squad are cute, kid-friendly version of modern Marvel characters so this game could target the same demo that has made the Lego games a huge hit.
At 12:45 p.m. on July 26, 2009, a panel will have an in-depth discussion concerning the future of Marvel video games. This panel will feature trailers for upcoming games such as Sega’s Iron Man 2 (based on the movie sequel), the previously mentioned Super Hero Squad and Activision’s Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2.
Writers Matt Fraction, Mark Hoffmeier and Evan Skolnick will join with game developers Kyle Brink, Robert Blackadder, Dan Tanguay and TQ Jefferson to discuss “how story and design can come together to make licensed games that don’t suck” according to Marvel’s own press materials. It’s nice to know they are thinking about that because for every favorably received X-Men Origins:Wolverine, there seem to have been 100 Aquaman: Battle for Atlantises.

Always a fan of a great superhero game…even dating myself back to the x-men arcade game! That needs to released! Konami…work something out please!!!
